The Lewis Partnership, owners of The Moat House and The Swan Hotels in Staffordshire were handed two awards this week at the prestigious Taste of Staffordshire Awards.
The family-owned hospitality group, who started with a small pub in the sleepy village of Acton Trussell back in 1988, were thrilled to be given two Second Place awards at the event with the two hotels sharing the limelight.
Second Place in the fiercely contested 'Restaurant of the Year' category went to The Conservatory at The Moat House, who's reputation as one of the leading restaurants in the Midlands region is rapidly spreading across the UK.
Group Executive Head Chef, Matt Davies, said: "I owe every award and accreditation we receive to the hard working teams in our kitchens, we are very lucky to have a strong team that has been together for a long time. It is a real pleasure to have watched many of the youngsters mature and grow into some of the best chefs around. Everyone in the kitchens should feel proud to receive this award as without them it would not be possible."
The group's other hotel, The Swan , in Stafford celebrated winning Second Place in the 'Brasserie of the Year' category. It is the fourth year in the five since opening that they have won an award in the annual competition.
Chris Lewis, Managing Partner for the group, commented: "Our commitment across the organisation to locally sourced, good quality food and good service was rewarded here tonight. To get an award for both restaurants gives me a real sense of satisfaction as we endeavour to instil the same company values across to very different businesses, two be accredited with these awards shows it is working. I'm really pleased for the teams at both hotels."
